Former secretary at Tioga Auditor’s Office charged with stealing money

TIOGA, N.D. (KUMV) - Police arrested and charged a former member of the Tioga Auditor’s office for stealing from the city.

Sara Wagner is charged with theft of more than a thousand dollars. Prosecutors say she was a former secretary who collected payments.

Court documents mention that when a meeting was held to discuss missing funds last year, Wagner was seen crawling under her desk with envelopes containing nearly a thousand dollars.

In a written statement to police, Wagner claimed she was looking for the money under her desk. Later, she told police she did not remember what she was doing under the desk.
