Mandan Police arrest murder suspect

MANDAN, N.D. - The Mandan Police Department says they have arrested a suspect involved in a Nov. 26 murder.

They say Jiqueal Simmons was arrested Dec. 2 for attempted murder and reckless endangerment.

Simmons was arrested on the 700 block of West Sweet Avenue in Bismarck and he was taken into custody without incident.

He is being held in the Morton County Correctional Center pending his initial court appearance.

ORIGINAL STORY: Nov. 26 The Mandan Police Department and Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating the shooting death of a 34-year-old Mandan man on Nov. 26.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. Mandan Police were called to the area of 2010 46th Ave SE after receiving reports of shots fired. When officers arrived on the scene they located the victim who was transported to a Bismarck hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are following up on several leads, but no one has been arrested at this time.

UPDATE: Nov. 28 Authorities have released the names of two people arrested in connection to a homicide in Mandan November 26, and they are trying to locate two other people involved.

Forty-three-year-old Kelvin Simmons and 30-year-old Quentin Felton have been charged with attempted murder and reckless endangerment and are each being held on $100,000 bond.

Mandan Police say they're looking for 24-year-old Jiqueal Simmons who is also wanted for these charges. The fourth person involved hasn't been identified, but they say they have several leads.

Police responded to a report of shots fired Saturday morning and found 34-year-old Kevin White of Mandan laying injured on the ground. White was pronounced dead at a Bismarck hospital.
