Man arrested in Berthold charged in Washington state murder

A man who led authorities on a manhunt after fleeing a traffic stop in Berthold earlier this month now faces a murder charge in Washington state.
Prosecutors in Washington have charged 23-year-old Devin Schultz-Morrison with murder, according to Berthold Police. Investigators in Vancouver, Wash., charged Schultz-Morrison in the murder of 23-year-old Vincent Trevino, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Dec. 30, 2017.
Schultz-Morrison fled on foot from a traffic stop in Berthold the night of July 2. He managed to evade a police dog, though searchers tracked him down later the following day.
Authorities extradited him to Washington state for weapons violations shortly thereafter, where police arrested him for the murder.
He faces a series of drug and fleeing charges in North Dakota, though it’s unclear why he fled to the state.
Berthold Police continue to work with detectives in Vancouver on the investigation.
