Jon Cole

Jon Cole is a veteran sports anchor of KUMV-TV. Voted by his colleagues as the North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year in 1983, 1998, 2003, 2006 and AGAIN in 2007.

In January of 2005, Jon was named the winner of the Western Star Award given by the city of Williston. The award is given to a resident for past achievements, honors, and awards.

In June 2001 he was named the winner of the Award of Merit from the North Dakota Coaches' Association. In May of 1995 he received a Distinguished Service Award from the Williston Education Association.

In Feb. of 2015 he was inducted into the North Dakota Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame.

On December 16, 2016, the new Williston High School Gym was named the Jon Cole Gymnasium for his years of coverage.

Cole is a 1976 graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and an Honor Graduate of C.W. Post College in Greenvale, NY, with a BA in Communications.
