Jessica Umbro
Reporter
Jessica Umbro moved to Alabama to become the Gray State Political Correspondent in July 2025.
Jessica is originally from Yardley, Pennsylvania, just north of Philadelphia. She studied at the University of Maryland in College Park, majoring in journalism and government and politics with a concentration in international relations. During her time at UMD, she interned at Meet the Press with Chuck Todd in Washington, D.C.
Just after graduating, Jessica moved to Lexington, Kentucky, to become a general assignment reporter at our sister station, WKYT. She enjoys covering politics and breaking down the political jargon to make politics more accessible to everyone.
