12 years of Bismarck Haunted History Downtown Tours

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - You might not know it, but Bismarck has its own haunted history.

Bismarck businesswoman and owner of URL Radio, Stacy Sturm has been putting on Haunted History Downtown Tours for 12 years.

The tour consists of the haunted histories of downtown Bismarck landmarks such as The Dakota Stage Playhouse and The Patterson, originally known as the McKenzie Hotel.

Sturm said she started doing them after she was asked to fill in to show people around Bismarck for a convention and decided to post it online.

“I posted on social media. Like, thanks to this tour group, to this group, letting me lead you around Bismarck doing some stupid ghost stuff. Talking about ghost stories. And then another group wanted one. And then another group wanted one. And then people wanted one. And then I decided then that to do kind of a test run and do some public tours then that fall. And they just took off,” Sturm said.

Tours are sold out for the rest of the season, and Sturm said it happened almost immediately.
