SIDNEY, Mont. (KUMV) - Federal agents arrested a Fairview, Montana, man this week after he violated his parole.
On Wednesday, Lonnie Porter was due in Richland County court on two counts of aggravated animal cruelty. Richland County Attorney Charity McLarty said Porter was immediately arrested by U.S. Marshals once in the courthouse.
Federal documents claim Porter violated his parole by committing crimes. Porter was initially found guilty of unlawful transport of firearms in 2021 and violated parole in 2024.
Prosecutors plan to ask a judge to revoke Porter’s supervised release in a hearing scheduled this afternoon.
McLarty said Porter will still face his charges at a later date.
