Williams County, Williston Library unveils new Bookmobile

WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Williston’s library has a new bookmobile to serve Williams County.

The vehicle went into service this week, meeting with kids in Williston, Grenora and Zahl.

Library Director Andrea Placher said the previous bookmobile had mechanical issues that limited operations.

Placher said the bookmobile averages around 35 stops a month, including various pre-schools, daycares and senior centers.

“It’s imperative to have a bookmobile to be able to get to all those cities. We go to Ray, Tioga, Alamo, and McGregor. You name it; we’re there. Without the bookmobile, we wouldn’t be able to offer those services,” said Placher.

The bookmobile was funded through Williams County, several grants and various donations.

The bookmobile’s schedule can be found on the Williston Community Library’s website.
