WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Williston State College is adding bachelor’s programs despite the school being a two-year institution.

College President Bernell Hirning said they want to partner with state universities to bring more options to Williston.

Some of the planned programs include various business degrees from Dickinson State, education from Mayville and Valley City, and Addiction Studies from Minot State.

“If you add it all up, it would be a menu of approximately 20 bachelor’s completions programs offered here in Williston that allows people to stay here with their families, to live here, work here, finish their bachelor’s degree, and be part of solving the workforce shortage in northwest North Dakota,” said Hirning.

Williston State also partners with the University of Mary for several four-year degrees, including business administration and nursing.
