WILLIAMS COUNTY, N.D. (KMOT) - The total number of measles cases in North Dakota in 2025 increased by one on Tuesday.

According to the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services’ measles dashboard, Williams County now has 18 reported cases this year, and the state total sits at 36.

Details are limited on the new case, but a note on the dashboard indicates the diagnosis report for the person was received after their isolation period ended.

This would be just the second case reported in the state in more than a month.

On Monday, we reported that state health officials said the outbreak in North Dakota was over.

The best way to avoid contracting measles is by receiving the MMR vaccine.
