Williston man sentenced to life in prison will appeal

WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - A Williston man sentenced to life for two counts of attempted murder will appeal the decision.
A jury found Joshua Martinez guilty in January after prosecutors said he fired a gun at police officers while attempting to run away from police after a traffic stop.
A judge sentenced the man to two life terms this month.
Martinez’s attorney argues there was insufficient evidence to support his conviction.
A hearing date has not been scheduled.
