Film on Minot’s historic Blue Rider bar in the works
MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - An iconic small business in the Magic City will make it on the big screen.
Local filmmakers are creating a movie about the Blue Rider bar in Minot.
More than a bar: that’s what the Blue Rider is to many.
“This bar and the people that go here are what make this movie different,” said ShaunAnne Tangney, executive producer of The Blue Rider movie.
Tangney said it’s been a part of her big life moments, like meeting her late husband.
She said Blue Rider is celebrating 30 years this year, and said it’s the oldest wood frame building in the Magic City.
“So it’s recorded, it becomes a part of history,” said Tangney.
Tangney, together with Adam Dyess and Kalie Paulus, make up the team for Sole Purpose Films.
She said they are halfway through principal photography.
“We’re two-plus years into it already, and I would guess we have another year or year and a half yet to go,” said Tangney.
Tangney said the streaming platforms for the movie are not set, but they’re hoping to have it as widely distributed as they can.
There is not a set release date for the movie yet, but you can keep up with filming progress by searching ‘The Blue Rider Movie’ on Instagram and Facebook.
