WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - North Dakota’s oil and gas production increased a small amount for the second straight month.

Department of Mineral Resources Director Mark Bohrer said oil production was up by about 1.2 million barrels per day, a 1.2% increase. Gas was up by a similar bump of 3.5 billion cubic feet per day.

“It’s about 9% above the revenue forecast. That’s an increase we were expecting and anticipating coming up later in the year based on the completions we’ve been seeing,” said Bohrer.

The streak will end when October’s numbers are released next month due to several wildfires temporarily halting production.
