PSC approves permit for Cerilon GTL
WILLIAMS COUNTY, N.D. (KUMV) - The Public Service Commission has approved a siting permit for the Cerilon Gas-To-Liquids Plant.
The facility in Williams County will turn natural gas into products like diesel.
Commissioners held a meeting in Williston this summer about the project, noting that traffic issues will need to be monitored due to the excessive oil traffic along the area.
“There’s a lot of unique traffic features here that could really cause a lot of problems, and thank goodness for this hearing we heard from that,” said Randy Christmann, public service commission chair.
Cerilon will need to present a construction management plan before starting work at the site, which will require communication with the ND DOT and local residents.
The Department of Transportation said they are looking for ways to improve traffic flow along Highway 1804.
“Dot has said that they are working with BNSF on a grant application for an over or underpass at that crossing,” said Julie Fedorchak, public service commission.
Construction at the plant is scheduled to start in 2026.
