First bid package approved for Williston Elementary

WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - The Williston Basin School Board approved the first bid package for the new elementary school.

The first phase of the project will cost around $14.8 million. It will cover the asphalt, earthwork and concrete for the site.

Ryan Anderson with JE Dunn said they wanted the bid approved soon so they could start work before winter.

“We have to get some work down this fall in order to meet the timeline and the project goal. Every day counts this time of year as we’re approaching winter,” said Anderson.

The total budget for the new elementary school is $55 million.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for October 4.
