In just a couple weeks will be giving hearts day, where millions of dollars are sent to the state's non profit organizations.

This year Gate City Bank is donating $250,000, and the public is going to help decide who gets some of the money. Anyone can go into a bank location or the website and nominate a charity until Feb. 7. The bank will split $75,000 among the 30 winning charities.

"It's just really part of the commitment that we have to the communities, the people that live in them, and the organizations that do so much good to so many areas of interest," said Norman Clark, Gate City Bank senior vice president.

Last year the bank gave $95,000 in honor of their 95th anniversary.
