Climate activist Greta Thunberg to visit Standing Rock

FORT YATES, N.D. - Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old Swedish climate activist, famous for her school strikes advocating for more aggressive climate action, will visit Pine Ridge on Sunday followed by Standing Rock on Tuesday.

Thunberg will participate in a pair of panels with Tokata Iron Eyes focused on the climate struggle in Indian Country, including plans to double oil flowing through the Dakota Access Pipeline and the proposed path of the Keystone XL pipeline, according to the Lakota People's Law Project.

The Sunday panel will be held at the Red Cloud Indian School Field House in Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota.
