UPDATE (4/16/2026 at 7:55 p.m.): Williston is getting another big-name franchise.

The city revealed Chick-fil-A plans to open its newest location in Williston Square.

Anna Nelson with the city’s economic development said it will be located at Dakota Drive and Third Avenue.

This comes shortly after plans were announced for Target to build a store in the square.

Nelson said they hear from the community a desire for new amenities, including Chick-fil-A.

“We consistently hear calls for retail, food and beverage, quality-of-life amenities, so that our residents can stay here, they don’t have to travel, and they can get everything that they need, everything that they want. And so this is the huge step in that direction,” said Nelson.

Nelson said there’s no timetable yet for building or opening the location.

There are currently Chick-fil-A locations in Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks.
