MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) — You could receive a tax credit for making a donation to an organization or non-profit.

The state of North Dakota offers a variety of tax credits.

One in particular benefits maternity homes and pregnancy centers, like Dakota Hope Clinic.

Executive Director Mandy Crocker said residents can donate up to 50 percent of what they owe in state income taxes to the clinic.

She explained donations help with parenting classes, and other resources they offer parents experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.

Crocker added the clinic does not receive government funding and runs solely off private donations.

“They would make that donation right to the clinic versus paying it out to the state, and then we would give them that tax receipt, so they can use it with their income tax returns,” said Crocker.

Dakota Hope has clinic locations in Minot, Tioga, and Bottineau.

Donations can be made until December 31 to be eligible for a credit on your 2025 taxes.

Residents are encouraged to consult with their tax advisor if they have questions.
