Chevron eliminates over 100 positions in ND following Hess merger

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Chevron said it’s eliminated more than 100 positions in North Dakota following its merger with Hess.

In a statement to Your News Leader, the company said it’s eliminating 63 positions in Minot and 48 in Tioga.

Chevron completed the merger with Hess on July 18, and the reductions began on Sept. 26.

The company called them “difficult” decisions they didn’t take lightly, adding, in part: “We understand the impact this news may have on employees, their families and the communities where we operate. Our priority has been to support employees through this transition.”

Chevron said it’s offering severance benefits and outplacement support.
