Our Redeemer’s volleyball seeks return to state
MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - Our Redeemer’s volleyball has made the Class B Tournament 10 times in the last 13 years. The Knights did not qualify in 2024 following an upset in the region semifinals.
The loss leaves this 2025 squad even more motivated to return to a spot the proud program is so familiar with.
“That’s never the way you want a season to end. We just want to come back and do better than last year. We don’t want it to end that way again this year. Nobody likes how that feels. We just want to go as far as we can, as long as we can, to spend more time playing with this awesome group of girls,” said senior outside hitter Anna Hall.
The Knights’ quest for a return to state looks different now with the three-class system. Since 2014, the only teams to win the region over ORCS are now in Class A: Des Lacs-Burlington in 2021 and South Prairie-Max last season. Now Our Redeemer’s shares a region with another area juggernaut, and its first opponent of the fall, Kenmare-Bowbells.
“When we started it in basketball, it was totally different playing different teams. We lost South Prairie, but we still play them this season. So that’s good, and other teams like that. It’s fun to play some new teams and have some different environments,” said senior outside hitter Kadyn Braun.
The Knights host the Honkers this Thursday at 7 p.m.
