WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Williston City Commissioners appointed Lucas Gjovig to fill the vacant seat left by the former commissioner, Tate Cymbaluk.
Gjovig is the CEO of Go Wireline, an oilfield service company. He is also the chairman of the Williston Planning and Zoning Commission and has been on that board for more than seven years. Mayor Howard Klug said he recommended Gjovig based on his experience and business knowledge.
“He was the best one to fit into what we are doing with the city and what we feel we need to do to make sure that the city moves forward seamlessly,” said Klug.
A total of 13 candidates applied for the position.
Gjovig will serve through next June.
