Minot and Williston set for All-West state softball matchup

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFYR) - The Class A State Softball semifinals had four WDA teams all playing against one another, which guaranteed two West teams would play for the championship. The two teams that played for the WDA title one week ago will have a rematch with a state title on the line, Minot and Williston.
Minot started the day off with a 7-3 win over the back-to-back defending state champions, the Dickinson Midgets. The Majettes will play in the state championship for the second time in three seasons.
On the other side, the Williston Coyotes handled the Bismarck Demons with a 7-4 win to move on to the title game for the first time in program history.
The Majettes defeated the Coyotes 9-0 in the WDA Championship. The Coyotes took the regular season series with two wins to the Majettes’ one win.
This marks the fourth straight season that a pair of WDA teams will face-off for the state championship.
Dickinson and Bismarck will play in the third place game on Saturday.
