Crews respond to fire near Des Lacs

DES LACS, N.D. (KMOT) – A grass fire near Des Lacs was still burning as of 8:15 p.m. Thursday, though the fire chief said it was contained.

Chief Kelly Grotte told Your News Leader the fire burned a couple of acres west of Des Lacs and destroyed two to three structures, but no one was hurt.

Grotte said Minot Rural and Berthold also responded to the scene.

He said they were working to keep the area under control ahead of Friday’s wind conditions.
