Williams County Commissioners give go-ahead for another data center company to apply for a conditional use permit
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Williams County Commissioners authorized another data center company to begin work towards applying for a conditional use permit.
Teton Digital seeks to build Project Trinity, a 100-megawatt facility about eight miles south of Tioga. Officials with the company said the site will be liquid-cooled, making it quieter compared to other data centers that use air-cooling.
Commissioners said these companies need to make sure they cooperate with the local townships and nearby residents.
“There should not be a lot of discontent. If you make your neighbors happy in this process, then it should be a good project. That’s all I ask through this process is to make sure those neighbors are taken care of,” said Beau Anderson, commissioner.
Project Trinity would be located next to the Enerfore Digital Data Center, which received a conditional use permit earlier this month.
Teton Digital CEO Scott Bennett said they hope to have phase one operational in late 2025, pending approval.
