Williston Fire, Police rescue feline from storm drain

WILLISTON, N.D. (KFYR/KUMV) - Williston Fire and Police came together Sunday to rescue a furry friend from a storm drain.

The Williston Police Department said they received a call reporting that a cat was stuck in a storm drain and asked the fire department for assistance.

The fire department said when they arrived on scene, the Williston Police officer said that he attempted to rescue the cat and that it had run deeper into the storm drain system.

Fire crews entered the storm drain, isolated the cat between two drainage pipe sections, and successfully removed it. They say the cat did have a microchip, and a WPD Animal Control Officer obtained the owner’s information from the microchip and reunited the animal with its owner.
