A man is in custody after he led police on a high-speed car chase and a foot chase late Saturday night.

Grand Forks Police say they pulled over Cory Hanson, 27, at the intersection of Campbell Drive and S. Washington Street for a traffic violation, but Hanson then took off at a high rate of speed, going through multiple stop lights and stop signs.

Officials say during the pursuit, Hanson struck the porch of a residence and also hit a stopped patrol vehicle that was in the area of the pursuit. Hanson then parked in the alley of 1000 S. 10th Street where he fled on foot.

A perimeter was established, and officers were able to track the suspect through using shoe prints in the snow.

Police say Hanson is at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center and was charged with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, preventing arrest, leaving the scene of an accident on two occasions and fleeing in a motor vehicle.

No one was injured in the incident. Police is asking anyone with any information to the event to contact the Grand Forks Police Department.
