Rapper convicted of murdering woman, unborn child writes letter to judge asking for death penalty
(Gray News) – A rapper from Tampa sent a letter to the judge presiding over his case asking for the death penalty.
Billy Adams, known as “Ace NH,” was convicted in September of the murder of 22-year-old Alana Sims and her unborn child, WTSP reported.
At the time, a jury recommended Adams be executed, but the official sentencing hearing is scheduled for Dec. 1.
Adams mailed a handwritten letter to Judge Mark Wolfe asking him to honor the jury’s decision.
“I want to waive mitigation at this hearing, and I want to be sentenced to what the jury voted to give me,” Adams wrote. “My lawyers explained mitigation to me and they explained the consequences of waiving mitigation.”
Adams went on to write that he understood what he was giving up and he doesn’t have an issue with the death penalty.
“I’m writing to put this on the record,” he said.
The letter concludes with Adams writing, “I have asked my lawyers to respect my wishes when we go to court.”

Just because Adams is requesting the death penalty doesn’t mean he will automatically be sentenced to death. A judge will decide that during the hearing in December.
Family members told WTSP Sims was five months pregnant when she was killed. She was found lying dead on the street in February 2023.
According to WTSP, the woman’s 1-year-old son was found unharmed, sleeping in an SUV next to her body.
