MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) — A Minnesota woman is bringing Norwegian folk art to this year’s Fjord Folk Fest.

Rosemaling was popular in the 17 and 1800s.

The style includes flowers and scrolling that is typically painted on various wood objects.

Artist Michelle Carlson said there are 16 different types of rosemaling.

Aside from selling her art, Carlson hopes to share it.

“I want to continue to share. I teach, and then I want to show, to make sure people know what the Norwegian rosemaling history is and the beauty of it,” said Carlson.

She also sells her artwork on Etsy as Nordic Gal Designs.

Fjord Folk Fest continues Saturday until 8 p.m.
