BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Bismarck State College announced the addition of two new athletic programs on Wednesday. The Mystics will field men’s and women’s golf teams beginning in the fall of 2027.

“Bringing golf back was a big focal point for us to continue our growth as an athletic department,” Athletic Director Jason Harris said in a release. “We’ve seen participation in golf grow across the state in the past ten years, and we’re confident that now is a better time than ever to bring the program back and enhance the opportunities BSC can provide for student-athletes.”

BSC previously had a golf team, but the program dissolved at the end of the 2017 season.

Men’s and women’s golf will be the 21st and 22nd varsity sports for the Mystics. The men’s program will be the eighth team to play golf in the Frontier Conference, and the women’s team will be the ninth to play in the conference.

BSC said it is in the process of finalizing the hiring of head coaches for both teams.
