UPDATE: Man dies following shooting near Dickinson

STARK COUNTY, N.D. (KFYR) - UPDATE (2/13/2026): The suspect in this case has been charged with murder (intentional or knowing adult victim) by the Stark County Prosecutor. The Stark County Sheriff has identified the suspect as Mark Terry Clement, 47, of Dickinson.

The sheriff has also released the victim’s name: Justin Richard Boersma, 45, of Gladstone, ND.

The sheriff did not include details surrounding what led to the incident.

ORIGINAL STORY (2/12/2026): A 45-year-old man is dead following a shooting about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an area just east of Dickinson and found a man who had been shot.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Investigators identified a 47-year-old suspect in a vehicle in Dickinson. Officers arrested him in the parking lot of the Dickinson Public Safety Center after a short chase.

Investigators spent much of the day processing the crime scene in the 3000 block of Interstate 94 Business Loop.
