WESTHOPE, N.D. (KMOT) - A local coffee roasting company is using one of its products to give back.

MoJo Roast in Westhope offers a variety of whole and ground coffee beans.

Owner and founder Jo Khalifa said one in particular has a special meaning.

The Porcupine Creek Gold blend honors Fred Hurt, commonly known as Dakota Fred.

Khalifa said she created the blend of coffee with Hurt prior to his passing and wanted to carry on his legacy.

“We send $5 of every one of these bags sold to the Mike Rowe Foundation to help with the scholarships that fund other people that want to get into the trades,” said Khalifa.

Porcupine Creek Gold coffee is available solely on MoJo Roast’s website.
