16-year-old taken into custody in Minot for stolen vehicle, fleeing from officers

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - A 16-year-old Williston girl was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Minot for fleeing from officers while driving a stolen vehicle.

Minot Police officers responded to a welfare check downtown Thursday afternoon, but when they arrived, they say they were told the person they were checking on was driving a suspected stolen vehicle.

Officers say they found the vehicle driving recklessly near Trinity Hospital, nearly striking several cars in the parking lot.

After fleeing police, the driver eventually stopped and was taken into custody.

No one was injured.
