Plans to repurpose downtown Bismarck Train Depot

The downtown Bismarck train depot will be repurposed, but the owner says its historical look from a century ago will be restored.

The owner of the building, Dale Zimmerman says it will soon be the home of Edwinton Brewery, and his vision is to combine the brewery and the depot on the building's west side.

The brewery will open in July and a restaurant by Labor Day.

"So we gutted the place, brought it back to its original core and now we are enhancing all of that," said Zimmerman.

The depot's other side will have an area for large, private events such as weddings and meetings.

Renovations for the brewery will start next week. Zimmerman says the parking lot will be permanently closed on May 1.
