There could be an upturn in North Dakota's oil industry next year. More than 850 wells are waiting to be fracked within the state, and some oil companies are hiring.

Job Service in Williston has announced five oil companies are seeking out frack crews for 2017. Depending on the company, 45 to 65 people per crew would be needed.

"There's an increase in fracking crew, which leads to an increase in what we call workover crews and there the ones that come in and actually put the pump on," says Cindy Sanford, Job Service Williston.

As of this afternoon there were more than 450 jobs in the oil field in varying positions across the state.
