The footage was shot of visiting female athletes who used the men's locker room when playing against Limestone College in Gafney, South Carolina.
Roylan Hernandez-Diaz, 43, had been on a hunger strike before his death, his girlfriend said.
"These families were humiliated and traumatized in public view and treated as suspect because they happen to be Muslim," a lawyer representing the families said.
The 73-year-old woman who had volunteered to participate in a police demonstration was shot and killed in front of about three dozen people, including her husband.
