A Williston man, accused of murdering one man and attempting to murder another in Williston, was in court Wednesday to introduce evidence and exclude the testimony of a friend of the victim, Matthew York.
A landfill near Williston is applying for permits to dispose of radioactive materials, or TENORM. If approved, this would be the first of its kind in North Dakota. A public hearing was held last night, where many gathered to let their voices be heard.
Over 100,000 people across North Dakota have mineral rights, and many of them let oilfield companies extract those minerals in exchange for royalties. Engineers say a lot of the time, the oilfield companies undervalue what those minerals are actually worth and mineral rights owners don't know where to look to get their questions answered.
