BISMARCK, N.D. - It's not everyday a major golf champion stops by the Hawktree Golf Course, but one did Monday.
Andy North spent some time talking with the guests but it's wasn't golf that brought him to Bismarck.
North is in town on behalf of Sanford health. He's traveling our part of the world to look and learn because he's on the Board of Trustees for Sanford.
"Bismarck is going to be a great two or three days running around the health care system. I'm looking forward to being out here the beautiful layout and its a gorgeous day to be out in the Midwest," said
Andy North, two-time U.S Open champion.
North played professionally for a couple of decades and he's one of only 16 guys to win the U.S. open more than once.
"Well, anytime you can win any place its good. Junior golf, amer-golf, whatever. But, you put the hard work in its nice to have something happen at the other end of the tunnel and its great thrill to actually be able to win something important," said North.
North still follows the PGA as a commentator for ESPN and he still plays an occasional round on the Champions tour.
