1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1T lemon juice
1T worcestershire sauce
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp ground mustard
1 tsp onion powder
2T brown sugar
Apple Fennel Slaw (for pulled pork)
1 apple (julienned, recommend pink lady or honey crisp)
1 fennel bulb (julienned or shaved)
1/2 head of green cabbage (thin sliced)
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 tsp black pepper
Wisk together vinegar, oil, salt and pepper
Pour over vegetables, and toss to combine.
Allow to “marinate” in fridge for an hour to let flavors combine.
For the recorded segment I figured we could do a pastry we have in house everyday. I did this once with mark on the show over a year ago, and it’s an item we have in our pastry case everyday so figured it’s a good one for a canned segment since whenever you air it, we’ll have it in house.
Terra Nomad’s Flourless Fudge Cookies
6oz Chopped Nuts (walnuts, pecans, mix, etc)
1.5 cupsPowdered Sugar
6T Cocoa Powder (dutch processed if you feel like splurging)
1 tsp Vanilla extract
2 large egg whites
DirectionsCombine all ingredients in medium pot, bring to a boil, reduce to simmer,
Stirring occasionally, cook uncovered for about an hour.
