Slide the City is coming back into Mandan.
The Mandan City Commission approved the attraction's return at Tuesday night's meeting.
The three-block long summer water slide raised about $9,500 for the Universal Playground.
Sponsors fully fund the event costs.
Mandan Parks and Rec plans to add more vendors along the slide route and create time slots to help reduce wait times.
"We're really excited about it here at the park district. It just creates more awareness for Mandan and for North Dakota," said Kelly Churchill, Mandan Parks and Rec.
Next year's event will be a fundraiser as well, but the department hasn't decided which project it will benefit.
