Mandan Murder Suspect Pleads Guilty to 2 Felony Charges

A Mandan murder suspect pleaded guilty to two felony charges on June 16.

Twenty-four-year-old Jonathan McKinney was accused of shooting 28-year-old Alex Landson in Mandan.

McKinney pleaded guilty to felony charges of tampering with physical evidence and criminal conspiracy at his pretrial conference.

McKinney's co-defendant, 39-year-old Warren Pfetzer, also pleaded guilty to similar charges including prohibited possession of a firearm, as well as a misdemeanor charge for menacing.

According to court documents, Pfetzer helped destroy the murder weapon and the ammunition inside it.

Both men are expected to appear in court for their felony jury trial on June 23.
