Teams of volunteers spread out across Mandan to clean up the streets.
Today was the Third annual Mandan Clean-Up with close to two hundred volunteers expected throughout the day. Organized by the Mandan Beautification Committee, the clean-up happens once a year.
Local churches, schools, and businesses sent teams to help out with the effort. They hope to double the number of volunteers and the amount of litter bagged from last year.
"I just have noticed that litter has really increased in the Bismarck-Mandan area in recent years, and people want to get involved, and help make it more beautiful, and clean up our communities," said Amy Schmidt, Citizen Rep of the Mandan Beautification Committee.
Bismarck's city clean-up is just one week away, and anyone is welcome to come out for a couple hours and help out.
