It didn't take long for the only Boy Scout Troop in Mandan to find a new sponsor.
The Boy Scouts of Troop 54 have a new home and sponsor at the Mandan Eagles Club.
The group needed a new organization to sponsor the boys after the Bishop of the Bismarck Catholic Diocese cut ties with the Boy Scouts following the organization's decision to allow gay Scout leaders.
"The outpouring of community support that we have received in the last few weeks since we have been going through this adventure," said Roy Bailey, Troop 54 leader.
"Growing into responsible adults is part of people and that is why they are so happy to have them on board with us," said Lyla Joyce, manager of the Mandan Eagles Club.
The Eagles Club will provide storage and a meeting space for the Scouts, and the troop will lend a hand at club functions. The Eagles are also sponsors of a Cub Scout troop.
