A 21-year-old driver is dead after he rear ended a semi-truck on Interstate 94 Sunday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says that the 21-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry heading east when he crashed into the back of a semi that was stopped in the passing lane about six miles east of Richardton.
The semi-truck was stopped due to another truck that pulled over on the side of the road due to icy conditions.
The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 19-year-old and 20-year-old passengers were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson.
Two other accidents happened when drivers tried to avoid the first crash.
A third semi was traveling east and swerved to avoid the accident and ended up hitting the truck on the shoulder of the road.
Another pick-up truck swerved and ended up rolling into the ditch.
No injuries were reported in either accident.
