PHILADELPHIA The defending Super Bowl champions find themselves a game under .500, nine games into the NFL season.
Carson Wentz and the Eagles lost by seven points to the Cowboys last week. It’s their third straight loss, and the Century High School graduate says a loss like that, is tough to take.
"Obviously, after the game everyone is frustrated. Losses like that sting a little bit, but we've always rebounded well, even coming out to practice today I'm excited for that because the guys are going to be ready to go. At the end of the day we never really question our effort and attitude around here, we just got to get it done," said Wentz.
It doesn’t get any easier this week for Philly. Wentz’s team plays New Orleans, and the Saints have the best record in the NFL.
"We realize they've, as of late, have gone up on teams early. We have a ton of confidence in our defense, but that's a heck of an offense over there. We don't try and look too much into that because we have high expectations and standards on the offensive side of the ball. We realize we have some things we have to clean up, especially in situational football. Some of it being red zone and those sorts of things and so we realize we may have to score. Again, we have a lot of confidence in our defense and we're excited. This is going to be a fun match up."
Sunday’s game is at the Superdome in New Orleans.
