Carson Wentz is three touchdown passes away from tying, and four away from passing Sonny Jurgenson for the Eagles single-season record. Wentz has 29 touchdown passes with four games to go.
For just the second time this season, Philadelphia is preparing for a game following a loss. Philly got beat in Seattle on Sunday night, and the team stayed on the West Coast because the Rams are the next opponent this weekend.
Carson threw for nearly 350 yards. But the highest-scoring team in the NFL got just 10 points out of 7 drives that at some point reached Seahawks territory.
"I think the biggest thing is we just missed some opportunities,” Wentz said. “We missed opportunities, I missed some throws obviously the fumble down there. We just have to clean some of those things up. We were right there. Did we have our best performance? No, not at all, but I thought we were right there. It wasn't a game plan thing. It wasn't a play calling thing at all. We just got to execute better."
One of the major storylines this week will be the quarterbacks. The Rams took Jared Goff no.1 overall right before the Eagles selected Wentz. These two will be tied together for a long time. As Wentz says, "we're friends. We're friends off the field. We met before the draft and everything. We have the same agent's and everything like that, so you never know throughout the draft process it was a crazy whirlwind. You're playing every scenario in your head, but trying not to, and you naturally are so but at the end of the day I wouldn't trade for the world where I ended up."
Philly is tied with the Vikings for the best record in the NFC. The Rams are in first place in the NFC West.
