BISMARCK, ND. The high school sports season has not started in North Dakota yet but this week the Class-A girls landscape changed dramatically when it comes to volleyball and basketball.
Century's Lauren Ware tore the ACL in her knee at a summer volleyball tournament in Sioux Falls.
Ware is one of the best multi-sport recruits in North Dakota in a very, very long time.
Last month, Lauren narrowed her college list down to Minnesota, UCLA, Texas, Tennessee and Arizona. Ware is planning to play both sports on the major division one level.
Lauren is heading into her senior year at Century and she is already a two-time Gatorade player of the year in both volleyball and basketball, plus she was named the Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association high school female athlete of the year.
No word on her surgery or expected recovery time but it's likely she will miss most, if not all of her season year with the Patriots.
