UMary holds first-ever indoor track meet in new fieldhouse

BISMARCK, N.D. - The University of Mary held their first-ever indoor track and field meet at the UMary Fieldhouse and Wellness Center Saturday.

Dickinson State University and Minot State were in town for the meet.

"It's exciting, it's a great opportunity for us to have a facility like this and to have these types of resources to be able to showcase the talent we have on our team, our product, which is a great product," said Dennis Newell, head cross country and track and field coach.

The UMary women's team is the defending conference indoor and outdoor champions and the team is the preseason favorite to add another Northern Sun indoor title to the six they already possess.

The UMary men's team is projected to finish second in the NISC.
