U-Mary has won three straight conference titles.

"My staff says I'm a pessimist. I say I'm a realist and I'm probably somewhere in the middle but I'm always going to go the same route with my answers it's hard to tell what you have and what you don't and we have a lot of potential and we have a lot of good human beings. I believe we're going to have a lot of people that work hard so, we'll just see where the chips fall. We got to stay healthy that's number one for is and make sure everybody is eligible and make sure everybody is on board. There's a lot of subjective things that need to click to do the thing we have want do to and meet the expectations that we have for the program and I'm sure people have come to expect from our program and that's good," said Dennis Newell, U-Mary head coach.

U-Mary's Ida Narbuvoll was also named the NSIC Pre-Season Athlete of the Year.
