State wrestling this week

BISMARCK, N.D. - The high school sports seasons are separated into fall, winter and spring.

Wrestling starts the run of winter state tournament's later this week.

Bismarck takes the number one ranking in the final Class-A coaches poll with it to the Fargodome.

The Demons also have six top ranked individuals.

The seeds for state should look a lot like that final poll.

"In wrestling, it is different than some of the other sports, because you see so much of the competition throughout the year that you could say that it's the coaches poll, but what it really comes down to is it's the ranking criteria that we use for the state. So it, it kind of a set things there are some weight classes that you could arguments in it but for the most part it's fairly cut and dry," said Mark Lardy, BHS co-head coach.

You can expect the Demons to battle with West Region teams for the dual and team points title's.

Minot, Century, Jamestown, St. Mary's and Dickinson are all ranked in the top seven.
